7/2/09 Sisters Captain Ryan and Captain Raelynn were joined by Captain Shane on the bridge and all had a great time navigating the Shawnodese. And Happy Birthday, Captain Raelynn!

6/30/09 Little Captain Cabri may be small in stature, but he is BIG in confidence! He took to the wheel like a pro and showed Captain Curtis that he was a “can do” kind of kid! Thanks, Captain Cabri, for being such a delightful young Captain of the Day!

6/26/09 Captain Wyatt’s smile said it all! And when First Mate Linda asked how he liked navigating the Shawnodese, he simply said “Awesome!”. Thanks, Captain Wyatt, for a job well done!

6/25/09 Captain Ben was a most excellent navigator! He told the First Mate he was a pretty lucky kid because not only did he get to drive the Shawnodese, but he won the cup for seeing the first osprey! Thanks, Captain Ben!

6/23/09 16 year old Captain Emily showed she had the prowess to navigate the Shawnodese. Despite several S turns, she finally got the hang of it and brought her straight and true into the harbor! Excellent navigating, Captain Emily!

6/21/09 16 month old Captain Conor was shy about taking the wheel until Mom said “It’s just like driving a car!” A light bulb went off and Captain Conor was off and cruising! Thanks for being such an adorable little Captain

6/20/09 ‘Twas a bevy of beauties on the bridge today! And what a delight they were! Captains Chiara, Christiana, Isabella, Maia, and Katri (not pictured) were not intimidated by the high seas and took to the wheel like pros, proving that girl power on the water is here to stay!

6/18/09 Our first Captains of the Day for the 2009 Summer Season were a delightful young pair of sisters! 4 year old Captain Erica and 6 year Captain Maggie did an excellent job at the wheel and gave all the passengers a reason to smile! Thanks for your excellent seamanship!

9/14/08 Captain Kole did a great job on our last day of the Summer Cruise Season! We appreciate his seamanship as well as the seamanship of ALL of our Captains of the Day in 2008! We hope to see you all again in the future! It was delightful to have each and every one of you one board!

9/7/08 Captain Quinn and Captain Devin were stand up Captains of the Day! They had loads of fun on the Shawnodese, and they were very surprised when the Captain invited them to drive the boat! They met for the first time, but the First Mate thinks it’s the beginning of a long and special friendship…

9/6/08 Captain Ryley, the impish little guy, also won the Shawnodese mug for spotting the first osprey! He was joined by Captain Preston & they had a grand time at the wheel!

9/4/08 Captain Eileen kept Captain Curtis mighty fine company in the wheelhouse today and was rewarded with a chance to navigate the Shawnodese! She loved it and the Captain loved having such a delightful conversation with her! Hope to see you again on your next trip down from Canada!

9/2/08 Stone celebrated his 4th birthday by becoming Captain of the Day! Dad said he had been excited for two whole weeks anticipating his big boat ride! He was a delight to have aboard and even won the Shawnodese cup for seeing the first Osprey! Whoo Hoo, Captain Stone! Happy Birthday!

8/30/08 Captain Ali hails from Australia originally, and it was her birthday! So she had the rare opportunity to be “Child for the Day” so she could be Captain of the Day! She loved every minute of it and did an almost perfect job except for a few s turns! Happy Birthday, Captain Ali!

8/29/08 Captain Bella was an excellent navigator, receiving kudos from Captain Curtis for a job well done! The passengers also enjoyed the fine cruise done with such skill by one so young! Thanks for being such a great Captain of the Day!

8/26/08 We had lots of merry Captains of the Day today! Captain Justin, Captain Harriet, Captain Fox, Captain Waverly, and Captain Sarah were all excellent at the wheel, bringing the Shawnodese right into port! Passengers applauded as each received their certificates!

8/24/08 It was a gorgeous day on the lake, perfect for Captain Sienna and Captain Lauren to learn the ways of navigation. And they made our day that much better by being superb Captains of the Day!

8/23/08 Captain Jared & Captain Jadyn were vacationing from Alberta, Canada, and thought that being Captains of the Day was a pretty cool thing! Thanks to our neighbors to the North for joining us on Lake Pend Oreille for fun and frolic!
8/23/08 Captain Sabri charmed the crew & passengers as she bravely navigated the Shawnodese on Lake Pend Oreille. She was an excellent captain and we hope she comes back next year to show off her prowess at the wheel!

8/21/08 There were lots of brave captains who took on the stormy seas of Lake Pend Oreille today! Captain Gabrielle, Captain Sierra, Captain Gaby, Captain Maggie, Captain Ethan, and honeymooners Captains David & Megan were courageous as they navigated through choppy seas and lightning with nary a peep of concern!

8/20/08 Siblings Captain Ben & Captain Sarah, who had just completed sailing school in Chicago, made an excellent team at the wheel. Then 16 month old Captain Owen, their cousin from Sandpoint, got in on the action. All our kids did a great job on waters of Lake Pend Oreille today!

8/19/08 Captain CJ and Captain Preston (who won the mug for spotting an osprey), were joined by 2 year old Captain Noah, who looked up to his namesake Captain Curtis (AKA Captain Noah by the Coast Guard for building the Shawnodese on a hill). All our Captains of the Day did a bang up job as navigators!

And he gave a nice big “THANK YOU” for his certificate over the PA system! You be sure to come back next year, Captain Cliff, and we will find you some pirates to terrorize!
